Overview
Epitalon (Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural peptide epithalamin, originally isolated from the pineal gland. It represents one of the most studied peptide bioregulators developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson's research group at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Research applications focus on Epitalon's effects on telomerase activity, melatonin production, and cellular ageing processes. The peptide is used as a research tool to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular senescence and lifespan regulation.
